Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy

Every one of us has been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It is a forever changing environment, so please do check this documents from time to time for any changes.

I have missed being able to offer you treatments, and I am looking forward to seeing you again.

My priority is to keep you, myself and other clients as safe as possible, therefore I implemented a number of changes in line with the government guidelines which I would like to make you aware of. During the time Sana Sports and Remedial Massage has been shut, I have completed the COVID-19 Awareness course. I have since made a number of changes in the way that I operate at the clinic which you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments

  • If I have symptoms of C0VlD-19, I will self-isolate immediately and not come in to work. This may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled, you will be able to re-book again or ask for a full refund / voucher if you have paid in advance.

  • If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE CLINIC FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to COVID-19 symptoms.

  • Clinical intake forms will now be completed online before appointments and you may be contacted prior to your appointment to discuss your treatment to reduce face-to-face contact time.

Your appointment

  • For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving. 

  • Your temperature will be taken when you come in for your appointment using a contactless thermometer. If you have a temperature of 37.8°C or higher, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment. 

  • I have increased the frequency of cleaning within the treatment rooms, including making sure that common surfaces are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client and have implemented an "airing" time of 30 minutes between each appointment. The clinic has temporarily closed the toilet facilities (except for emergencies) so please bear this in mind with your appointment.

  • Please shower and put on clean cloths before your appointment. 

  • All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.  

  • You will have hand sanitiser and face masks available for you to use when you come into the clinic.

  • The clinic staff and I will understand and not be offended if you wish to wear your own PPE such as face-mask or wear disposable gloves when you visit the clinic and during your treatment, if this is appropriate. As of 8 August 2020 it is a requirement to wear a face mask to your appointment.

  • Please don’t be surprised or upset if myself or staff at the clinic use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment.

  • Due to suffering from claustrophobia, I will be wearing a face shield without a mask for your treatment. Please do not book an appointment with me if this makes you feel uncomfortable. Please phone the clinic to book with another therapist.

  • I can confirm that the laundering of towels, couch covers, sheets and uniforms is a priority and I can assure you that all laundry is washed at 60°C with laundry detergent and Dettol laundry cleanser and then tumble-dried as an extra precaution. I use water soluble laundry bags so that all washable items used during treatment are kept in an air tight bag, laundered and then placed into another air tight bag to prevent contamination.

  • I understand the importance of hand hygiene and I will ensure that I wash my hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment. I ask that you also wash your hands before your treatment. 

  • I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments, please let me know and I will do what I can to assist you. 

After the treatment

  • In order to avoid handling of cash, I would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card or in advance using bank transfer. If you do pay by cash, I will provide and envelope for you to place the cash in.  

  • All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine as well as others at the clinic. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
