Gillian Ashton has many years experience in complementary and alternative health approaches. The use of massage has been a passion for some time as it encourages the body's own healing process. She is forever striving to improve herself to help others more effectively.
Gillian is a Level 4 Qualified Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist as well as a Certified Oncology Massage Therapist and Manual Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner. She has also completed further courses including; Myofascial Dry Cupping, Kinesiology Taping, Level 3 Diploma in Pathology, Mental Health First Aid, COVID-19 Awareness for Therapists and First Aid for Therapists. Gillian is currently studying Natural Medicine at The College of Naturopathic Medicine and hopes to qualify as a Naturopath and Master Herbalist by 2025.
Born in Zimbabwe, Gillian supported remote farming communities with urgent medical care in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana before moving to the United Kingdom in 2015.Natural medicine has always been a part of her life.
An active lifestyle is key to good health. Gillian plays field hockey, and enjoys spending time in, on or around water; body boarding, paddle boarding or swimming - both indoor and wild/cold water swimming.
Having had a diagnosis of a rare form of cancer - Immature Teratoma grade 1 stage 3 in 2011 - she understands the complexities that come with a cancer diagnosis.
